At the time of Sara's accident, she was working fulltime as an LPN for Piedmont Internal Medicine in Warrenton, VA and served as my personal nurse. Sara was a fabulous nurse and a wonderful person. She was so very kind to our patients and got along beautifully with our whole staff. She was extremely dedicated to helping patients and co-workers in any way she could. I worked side by side with her every day, and we were a great team. In between patient care, she would tell me about her wonderful family -- in a very short time, I learned so much about her parents, her siblings, her fiancee, and most of all, her son, Darren. She could not have been more proud of him -- she talked about every thing he said and did, and was just so joyous when she spoke of him. From all that I learned, she and he were best friends, not just Mom and son, and I feel so sad for Darren and hope he can be strong and endure this devastating loss. We do not yet have a flag flying at our medical office building, for if we did, it would be at half mass for many weeks to come. But in memory of Sara, I am going to have one erected and once complete, if available and OK with the family, we would like to have Darren raise the first flag in honor of Sara. From then on, it will serve as a constant remembrance to all of us every day as we come and go to work, and remember our short but sweet time with Sara. Our prayers and deepest sympathies to Sara's family and friends . . . we hope to see many of you at the services Wednesday. We are so sorry . . . William L. Simpson, MD Piedmont Internal Medicine

I had the pleasure of interviewing and hiring Sara for Piedmont Internal Medicine. We had interviewed several candidates and Sara was an obvious choice for us. She worked with us since May 2009 and during those short months she had an impact on us. I unfortunately did not get the opportunity to go over Sara's 90 day review with her before she passed, but would like to give Darren, Bart, and the rest of Sara's family the opportunity to know how a few of her coworkers felt about her. When we do reviews at PIM we give several people who work with the employee a chance to comment on the employee's character, work ethic, knowledge, customer service, etc. Here is what her coworkers had to say.  Sara seems to really like being here. She is quiet, gets her job done, and has a good attitude!  Sara is very helpful and seems like a great team player.  Sara is a great addition to PIM!  Great member to the team!  I think Sara makes the perfect nurse for Dr. Simpson.  Keep up the excellent work!  Great addition to the team. Working out great! Hope you like it here.  Sara appears very at ease in her role as Dr. Simpson's nurse. She is approachable to staff and I feel to her patients as well.  I think Sara is awesome!!! One of the sweetest people I have ever met here.  Here is what Sara had to say about her time at PIM,  I have enjoyed my 90 days so far! I definitely have room for improvement and would appreciate any input on how to when needed. Thank You.   I would like to thank her parents for raising such a beautiful person. My prayers are with Darren, Bart, Sara's parents, and the rest of Sara's family. Sara was not one to talk a lot about her personal life, but from what she did say I know that she loved Darren and Bart with all her heart. Her family was important to her. She is a witty, wonderful, caring, honest, and overall sweet person who touched people by simply being Sara. I think I can speak for all of PIM when I say that Sara will be missed greatly.

Sara will be truly missed by everyone here at Piedmont Internal Medicine. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone she worked with and our patients loved her. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Darren and her family. In this time of loss please find comfort in knowing that Sara touched the lives of everyone she met in a most beautiful way.

Sara, there is so much to say. The main thing is that I am going to miss you. My late night will not be the same. You were an AWESOME Mommy, Friend, Co-worker and work sister. May you watch from above and be proud of the HANDSOME little boy that you have already placed important values in. May you help Bart find peace with his loss. I am SURE that you will make your presence know to your family (you are just that kind of girl...LOL) I know that you will be an Angle flying all around us. WE LOVE YOU and Miss you ALOT!! Love ya, ~Kris

I'll miss Sara as everyone will. We sat next to each other at the nurses computer station and she would often speak of Darren. She was so proud of him. Sara was also a great match for Dr Simpson. Sara would always come up to me and say do you need any help? I had to laugh because Dr Simpson is very low key as was Sara, and a lot of the time she had nothing to do because he did everything. But she always took the opportunity to help someone else. What I enjoyed most about Sara was that she was  lay back, and very personable; always smiling and helpful. She'll always be in my heart, prayers, and on my mind.

My heart aches to think about Sara not being with us anymore.  She was one of the sweetest people I've ever met.  We had plans for hanging out in the future.  She wanted me to sell Mary Kay with her.
I want to tell her family that they are in my thoughts and prayers.
Goodbye Beautiful Sarella
I miss you

My condolences to Sara's family, I know there are no words or thing to heal the achiness of our broken heart from the lost of a loved one, but may you find refuge and strength from God.  I will miss Sara, as I cannot forget her bright face and bright smile , she was always happy!! My heart aches for her not to be in our office anymore, I did not have to know her very well because I know she was a proud and excellent mother, daughter, and friend, she was always wheeling to help at her convenience, I was able to see the love for her son through her pictures and I am sure she had the loved for her whole family as well.  I pray to God for Darren, may the angel of God be with him at all times to protect him and guide him. Sara is not here with us anymore, but she will always be in my heart.

We will miss Sara-her smile, her quiet manner and the kindness in working with patients.  My thoughts &   prayers are constantly with Darren, Bart and her entire family. Only God can fill the emptiness they feel. Sara touched many lives here at PIM and she will always be remembered.

I would like to share my deep sympathy with the family and close friends of Sara. I worked with Sara and even though we didn't spend a lot of time together or even know one another that well, I do know this...Sara was a great person, co-worker, and loved her son very much. She was one of the sweetest and most caring people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, she had a great attitude towards work and life in general. I wish the family the best of luck through this devastating time, but know while she was here she was truly loved and in the same token will be missed as well.

Beautiful, sweet, smart, full of life... this does not even begin to describe Sara's many qualities. She is a role model to all employees that she worked with and was a dear friend to all at Piedmont Internal Medicine. She had wonderful morals and was kind to all. She spoke of unconditional love of her family, fiance, and most of all her son Darren. She gave the world to him every day of her life. She spoke of him in the highest honor that anyone could speak of a son, a child. I will always remember her beautiful face, her smile, and the jokes we shared together. She worked hard, and loved her position which she also held high at PIM. I am truly sorry for your loss and she will be greatly missed. My sincere regrets to the family, Darren, and Bart. If you ever need anything please do not hesitate to contact me at work, email whatever the case may be. She will forever and always be a part of the PIM family and I will carry her in my heart forever.

Love,
